The national annual average intake per 1000 residents is 14 pets, our area is at 79 pets per 1000 residents.  Our area is still 4.6 times higher than the national average.

In 2016 the numbers show a 6.7 increase from the previous year, in 2017 the numbers show a 11% decrease since the launch of SpayCC Happy Pets Spay/Neuter Programs.

In 2018 the numbers show an 8.4 increase from the previous year, there is much spay/neutering to be done here!

In 2020 the numbers show a 9.6% decrease!   But there is still much to be done!

In 2021 the numbers show a 27.5 increase, which is following the nationwide trend, due to Covid 19 and a declining economic outlook we look for these numbers to increase.   We are collaborating with the local shelter and Friends of Campbell County Animals to develop new programs to help owners keep their pets through this crisis.

In 2022 we saw a 26.30% decrease in the intake.

In 2023 we saw an 8/17% decrease in the intake.  We are seeing intake going in the right direction!  Down!
